With your e-bike and your guide we cross the Rimigliano coastal park with its centuries-old pine forest, a stretch of cliff overlooking the sea, a beautiful meadow and the splendid gulf of Baratti Tenuta Poggio Rosso is just behind the hill close to the Gulf of Baratti. From the panoramic point of the vineyard it is possible to see the “Two Seas”, the one to the north of Piombino and the one to the south.
The hill on which Tenuta Poggiorosso is located dates back to 24-36 million years ago and is made up of marl from the promontory and the red/orange sands of Donoratico which give its name to the Poggio Rosso estate.
The varieties of Merlot, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Vermentino and Viognier are planted here.
These vines manage to convey unique characteristics of flavor and territoriality due to the particular position influenced by the proximity of the sea and constant winds.
