Bike Tour among the Medieval Villages

Bike Tour among the Medieval Villages

This tour is dedicated to two of the most characteristic medieval villages of the upper Maremma: Campiglia Marittima and Suvereto.

Campiglia is entirely built around an ancient medieval castle with its history, legends and traditions that seem to be read in its paved alleys, in the squares and on the walls of the buildings all arranged in concentric semicircles
The city walls contain the entire historic center and its characteristic squares are overlooked by artisan shops, museums and typical taverns.

Due to its particular position, Campiglia allows you to broaden the view over a vast stretch of the Maremma coast: from the Argentario promontory to the Baratti Gulf with also the possibility of admiring the Tuscan Archipelago and, when the sky allows it, also the coasts of Corsica.

Suvereto also rises between the hills and the sea of the Etruscan Coast. . The village, also medieval, is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy, and has also been awarded the Touring Club’s Orange Flag.

The walls all around the village still seem to guard a true treasure chest: narrow paved streets, stone houses, historic buildings and evocative churches

All around are endless woods of chestnuts, oaks and, obviously, cork trees, from which the name of the place derives.

Wrapped in the scents of the Mediterranean scrub, Suvereto is a village rich in art and history, very suggestive and fascinating with a great medieval soul still present and strong.

The e-Bike route starts from the village of Campiglia and, passing through the Rocca, you enter the narrow streets while still savoring the medieval atmosphere that emanates from every corner or portico.

Through a hilly road with breathtaking views, you arrive in Suvereto.

Here too the Middle Ages and stone merge into one.

The price includes bicycle rental, guide and varies depending on the number of participants (from 135 to 95 euros)
